From a small family business founded in 1921 in Friedrichsdorf, Germany, Milupa Aptamil has grown to become a world leader in infant nutrition.

Our research benefits the health and development of your baby

In 1954, Milupa Aptamil began a long term programme of research into the composition of breast milk. Since then, it has been our mission to learn from all the natural benefits breast milk has to offer. This resulted in Milupa launching its first infant formula milk in Europe in 1964 called 'Milumil'. Today, we pioneer global research and development in the field of infant nutrition – with over 250 scientists, paediatricians and nutritionists working for the benefit of babies and toddlers.

Milupa in Ireland

Milumil first went on sale in Ireland in 1983 and is now available as Aptamil Extra – the third largest brand in the Irish infant milk market. Our experience and success in Europe led to the 1972 launch in Ireland of a range of Milupa Cereals developed specially for infants. Sunshine Orange was one of the varieties introduced at that time, and today it is the number one selling packet baby meal for Irish babies.
